Diverse does not mean arbitrary
One only has to consider one's own home to recognise that people look to buildings for more than just practical solutions. The appearance of a building and its effects on all the other senses are also key considerations. And the way the senses of hearing, smell and touch respond to a building is closely linked to the individual's sense of well-being in a healthy home environment. The scope of individual inclinations and preferences is virtually boundless, and is accompanied by a growing fascination for new aesthetic ideas.

This "anything goes" attitude gives rise to an endless succession of new forms, stylistic mixes and material combinations in the field of architecture and home design. This represents a dual challenge for Sto. Firstly, this involves Sto meeting the desire for aesthetic diversity and developing the relevant products and application technology. And secondly, Sto is called upon to develop and market only such product systems as correspond to the time horizons of buildings - i.e. durable, reliable and physiologically harmless products.
